CPAC Releases Connecticut Legislative Scorecard, Revealing the Infectiousness of the Leftist Influenza.
ALEXANDRIA, VA (March 13, 2024) — CPAC Foundation’s analysis reveals an astonishingly progressive Republican caucus in the Nutmeg state. These legislators averaged about 57.5% across both chambers, voting with the conservative position just slightly more than half of the time. Meanwhile Democrat’s voted in lockstep to pass socialist policies.
“Connecticut, like other states in the region, has declared war on the Second Amendment and turned the state into an abortion on demand up to the moment of birth sanctuary,” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp. “Unfortunately for Republicans in the Northeast, gone are the days where sensible Democrat’s would at least pretend to hide their socialist tendencies.”
The following members of the Connecticut State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Excellence for voting with the conservative position at least 90% of the time during the 2023 session:
Senate:
Rob Sampson (100%)
House:
Anne Dauphinais (100%)
Mark DeCaprio (100%)
Gale Mastrofrancesco (100%)
John Piscopo (100%)
Doug Dubitsky (94%)
Karen Reddington-Hughes (94%)
Donna Veach (94%)
Additionally, a few lawmakers in the Connecticut State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Achievement for voting with the conservative position at least 80% of the time during the 2023 session.
The bills featured in CPAC’s 2023 Ratings of Connecticut address employment mandates, election security, and attacks on the Second Amendment. These issues, coupled with our mission to protect life, liberty, property and upholding the American family, created the basis by which the CPAC Foundation rated the Connecticut legislature.
The Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA), an initiative of the CPAC Foundation, is the premier organization for holding lawmakers accountable. The CLA produces the longest-running conservative congressional scorecard and our state program is the only one in the nation that scores all 8,000 lawmakers in the 50 states across every policy area.
