ALEXANDRIA, VA (October 28, 2021)—Under Democrat party leadership in the 2021 session, Virginia’s legislature advanced many liberal policies according to recently released voting record analysis from CPAC. In fact, Democrat lawmakers voted with the conservative position just 14% of the time.

“The ratings demonstrate how Democrat leadership in Virginia continues to bow down to labor unions, politically-connected special interests, trial attorneys, and the most radical elements of the Democratic Party,” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp.  “Now, more than ever, Virginia needs strong leaders to put an end to policies which make Virginia less attractive to families and job creators.”

Policies rated by ACUF include the attack on fair elections (HB 1890), taxpayer funding of abortion (HB 1896), bringing California’s draconian emissions standards to Virginia (HB 1965), new firearm restrictions (HB 2276), attempts to force state employees to learn Critical Race Theory (HJR 537) and additional employer mandates (HB 2063).

Additionally, ACUF rated attacks on property owners like expanding lawsuit abuse against landlords (HB 1900), excessively extending the eviction moratorium (HB 1889) and preventing landlords from accessing risk of potential tenants (HB 1908).
