Vote Description

HB 146 blocks judges from granting youthful-offender status to those charged with murder that were 16 at the time of the offense. CPAC believes this is a prudent step to keep Alabama safe and supports this bill. HB 146 was passed by the Alabama House of Representatives in a 67-33 vote on March 4, 2025, but the Senate failed to take up the bill.
