Vote Description

This bill requires able-bodied adults to work at least 20 hours per week, participate in a work program 20 hours a week, or volunteer at least 20 hours a week in order to continue to receive public housing benefits. CPAC believes that able-bodied adults should be expected to comply with reasonable work requirements in order to qualify for public housing assistance and supported this bill. The House passed the bill on February 23, 2023 by a vote of 80-15 and the bill later became law.
