This bill requests a waiver from the federal government to ban food stamp recipients (the current supplemental nutrition program) from using these funds from buying candy and soft drinks. CPAC believes these funds should only be spent on essentials and supported this bill. The House passed the bill on April 16, 2025 by a vote of 78-17 and the bill later became law.
