This bill requires that, if a bureaucratic regulation is expected to incur costs over $500,000 within 5 years after its implementation, the agency promulgating the regulation first receive permission from the legislature prior to enacting the regulation. CPAC supports efforts to increase legislative oversight over the bureaucracy and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on May 15, 2023 by a vote of 31-27 but the bill was vetoed by Governor Hobbs.
