This bill makes it such that babies born following a failed abortion must now be treated as legal people by physicians. It additionally strengthens the responsibility that physicians possess to protect the lives of these born-alive infants. CPAC opposes infanticide, believes that physicians should protect the lives of infants, and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on March 30, 2023 by a vote of 32-26 but the bill was vetoed by Governor Hobbs.
