The final version of this bill extends the life of the Maricopa County transportation excise tax by upwards of 20 years. It then devotes 37% of the proceeds from this tax to the public transit system. CPAC opposes measures that increase the tax burden on citizens and opposed this bill as a step in the wrong direction. The Senate passed the final version of this bill on July 31, 2023 by a vote of 19-7 and the bill later became law.
