Vote Description

This bill extends the sunset date on the Cotton Research and Protection Council. Established in 1984, this program funds research and technology designed to promote the cotton industry. CPAC opposes sections of the government bureaucracy that promote certain industries over another, opposes the continuation of this kind of bureaucracy, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on February 22, 2024 by a vote of 22-7 and the bill later became law.
