This bill expands the cash assistance program such that it can also provide funds to certain illegal immigrants. CPAC opposes measures that expand the welfare state, does not believe that taxpayers should be forced to pay illegal immigrants, and opposed this bill. The Assembly passed this bill on September 13, 2023 by a vote of 64-7 but Governor Newsom vetoed the bill.
