This resolution encourages the United States to join with other nations to develop a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty to stop the expansion of the use of oil and gas. CPAC supports all forms of energy, does not believe that the government should support one form of energy over another, further recognizes that such a treaty would only harm the US’ interests, and opposed this resolution. The Assembly passed this resolution on September 1, 2023 by a vote of 50-14.
