This bill establishes an 11% excise tax on the sale of firearms and ammunition throughout the state of California. CPAC supports the founders’ belief in the Second Amendment, opposes measures that target the firearms industry for persecution, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on September 7, 2023 by a vote of 27-9 and the bill later became law.
