This bill sets up a “Social Housing Program,” the likes of which will create social housing on excess state properties and cost taxpayers millions of dollars in the name of socialist pursuits. CPAC opposes socialist housing policies and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on September 14, 2023 by a vote of 27-10 but Governor Newsom vetoed the bill.
