This bill requires school districts to eventually exclusively purchase electric vehicles when replacing their existing fleet. CPAC recognizes that electric school buses are far costlier than regular gas-powered school buses, opposes increasing costs for taxpayers, does not believe that the government should support one form of energy over another, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on September 11, 2023 by a vote of 31-8 and the bill later became law.
