Vote Description

This bill adds further hoops prospective barbers and cosmetologists have to go through to get a license by adding provisions requiring testing in various hairstyles. CPAC opposes the proliferation of occupational licensing that criminalize efforts to start a business and is primarily designed to restrict competition and opposed this bill. The Senate passed the bill August 19, 2024 by a vote of 40-0 and the bill later became law.
