This bill requires landlords to, if they know that their tenant receives cash assistance, undergo a mediation process with the tenant prior to engaging in eviction proceedings with them. CPAC opposes government interference in the landlord-tenant relationship and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on May 7, 2023 by a vote of 45-18 and the bill later became law.
