This bill requires almost all individual and group health benefit plans to provide coverage for the full cost of abortions. The bill makes a small carve-out for employers with “sincerely held” religious beliefs. CPAC believes abortion is always a human tragedy, opposes the socialization of the cost of abortion, opposes insurance mandates, and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on April 1, 2023 by a vote of 41-19 and the bill later became law.
