This bill prohibits state entities from selling public land to build immigration detention facilities. It also prevents them from entering into agreements to detain illegal immigrants in such facilities or defraying any of the costs of such facilities. CPAC supports the enforcement of federal immigration laws and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on April 20, 2023 by a vote of 19-13 and the bill later became law.
