SB 296
Helping Colorado’s Public Schools Grind their Bootheel Into Conservative Students.
2023 - Colorado Senate
Vote Description

This bill allows public schools to receive and investigate complaints concerning harassment and/or discrimination taking place on their campus. Under this bill, harassment means unwelcome “verbal conduct” directed at a student because of their status as a member of a “protected class” based on race or gender identity. CPAC recognizes that the ambiguity of these provisions will lead to the persecution of conservative students that do not unabashedly affirm Leftist dogmas, opposes this consequence, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on May 8, 2023 by a vote of 23-12 and the bill later became law.
