This bill apportions tax credits to grocery stores such that they may be incentivized to locate themselves in so-called “food deserts.” CPAC believes that it is not the government’s job to determine where grocery stores should be located and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on May 30, 2023 by a vote of 136-14 but the bill never became law.
