This bill requires the Commissioner of Social Services to provide medical assistance to people such that they may receive bariatric surgeries and related medical services. CPAC opposes artificial wage increases, opposes making such increases even more onerous for employers, and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on June 6, 2023 by a vote of 98-50 and the bill later became law.
