Vote Description

This bill raises the fine an employer may incur for failing to pay the prevailing wage rate to their workers. It also allows for stop work orders to be issued for failures to pay the prevailing wage rate. CPAC opposes artificial wage increases, opposes making such increases even more onerous for employers, and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on June 7, 2023 by a vote of 133-17 and the bill later became law.
