HB 5422
Providing for the Creation of Re-Education Camps
2024 - Connecticut House of Representatives
Vote Description

This bill requires people that have been convicted in “hate or bias [crimes]” to participate in anti-bias or diversity awareness programs or in a community service program intended to “rectify” the damages caused by the crime. CPAC recognizes that these provisions would be used to further wage lawfare against conservatives and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on April 30, 2024 by a vote of 140-6 but the bill did not become law.
