This bill mandates that broadband service providers provide “affordable” broadband to everyone. CPAC opposes proposals that force ratepayers to pay twice—once for themselves and once for someone who doesn’t have it and opposed this bill. The Senate passed the bill on May 21 ,2025 by a vote of 29-7 but the bill was not taken up by the House.
