This bill requires the Department of Resources and Environmental Control to administer an electric vehicle rebate program, the likes of which will furnish $2,500 to people hoping to buy an electric vehicle. CPAC supports all forms of energy, does not believe that taxpayer resources should be used to favor one form of energy over another, and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on June 20, 2023 by a vote of 26-14 and the bill later became law.
