Vote Description

This bill reduces the statute of limitations on lawsuits associated with negligence and adopts a modified comparative negligence standard that prevents plaintiffs from recovering damages if they are found to be at least 51% at fault. CPAC recognizes that these measures will reduce frivolous and unjust litigation efforts, supports this consequence, and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on March 17, 2023 by a vote of 80-31 and the bill later became law.
