This bill urges the federal government to use a merit-based system in the recruiting and promotion efforts of the US military and to throw out the “woke” social programming that has infiltrated the armed forces. CPAC supports appropriate efforts to further the US’ security interests, opposes the Left’s weakening of the military, and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on May 1, 2023 by a vote of 84-24 and the bill later became law.
