Vote Description

This bill prohibits public schools from forcing employees and students to use another person’s pronouns. It also prohibits schools from teaching students in grades K-8 about gender identity and human sexuality. CPAC supports efforts to diminish the influence of radical gender ideology in public schools and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on May 3, 2023 by a vote of 27-12 and the bill later became law. Sen. Brodeur later voted Yea after the initial roll call vote.
