The early version of this bill sets up a program for which qualified nurses can apply in order to receive up to $100,000 over 5 years to pay off their student loan debts. CPAC does not believe that taxpayers should have to pay off other people’s student loans and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on March 30, 2023 by a vote of 53-1 and the bill later became law.
