Vote Description

This bill allows the Chief Energy Officer to set minimum efficiency standards for particular products. The bill also sets standards for air purifiers, ventilating fans, and other select goods. CPAC opposes providing even more discretion in this matter to Leftist bureaucrats and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on May 2, 2023 by a vote of 24-1 and the bill later became law. Note: This bill was given one of Hawaii’s signature “defective dates.”
