This bill places a cap on the amount of noneconomic damages that may be recovered in certain medical malpractice civil suits. CPAC supports efforts to reduce the procurement of excessive medical malpractice payouts and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on February 8, 2023 by a vote of 54-46 and the bill later became law.
