HF 189 permits students at nonpublic schools to enroll in athletics at public schools if their school does not offer a particular sport. CPAC believes that these programs should be available to every student and supports this bill. HF 189 was passed by the Iowa House of Representatives in a 59-26 vote on May 14, 2025, and it was signed into law by Governor Kim Reynolds.
