This bill contains provisions that prohibit Iowa’s public universities from increasing their funding of DEI initiatives. It also provides for a study of DEI initiatives. CPAC opposes the proliferation of DEI in universities and supported this bill as a step in the right direction. The Senate passed this bill on May 3, 2023 by a vote of 32-16 and the bill later became law.
