This bill prohibits the government from awarding contracts to companies because of their ESG rating. CPAC opposes the usage of ESG as a metric for judging companies, supports efforts to ensure that the public procurement process obtains services that will occasion the lowest possible cost to the taxpayer, and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on March 2, 2023 by a vote of 59-10 and the bill later became law.
