H 24
Forcing Taxpayers to Fund Other People’s Post-High School Careers.
2023 - Idaho House of Representatives
Vote Description

This bill appropriates millions of dollars in funds to a grant program that will apportion thousands of dollars to qualifying young adults such that they may pursue their careers in college or technical school. Students who are attempting to enter “in-demand” careers will be prioritized for this funding. CPAC does not believe that taxpayers should be forced to help fund other people’s higher education aspirations, opposes programs that favor certain industries over others, and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on February 6, 2023 by a vote of 36-34 and the bill later became law.
