This bill allows the Illinois Housing Development Authority to create a program designed to incentivize the development of affordable housing projects that incorporate suburban and urban gardening programs. CPAC believes that the government should instead work to divest itself from the housing market and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on April 20, 2023 by a vote of 73-31 and the bill later became law.
