This bill establishes the “hunger-free campus” grant program, the likes of which will provide grants to public universities such that they may dole out food to students that are members of minorities. CPAC does not believe that the government should subsidize the lives of college students, opposes the expansion of the welfare state, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on May 10, 2023 by a vote of 47-6 and the bill later became law.
