HB 1421
Reforming Energy Regulations.
2023 - Indiana House of Representatives
Vote Description

This bill requires the Utility Commission to grant or deny a certificate of public convenience within 240 days of an application to receive such’s submission. The bill also makes it more difficult for projects to receive green energy financial incentives without a full knowledge of the costs and expenses of the project. CPAC supports efforts to reduce the burdensome nature of many bureaucratic regulations, opposes wantonly doling out taxpayer funds and incentives without proper oversight, and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on March 28, 2023 by a vote of 65-29 and the bill later became law.
