This bill requires state officials to publish any findings that they may obtain that suggest that financial corporations are using environmental, social, and governance (ESG) guidelines when making investment decisions. It also prohibits the Indiana Public Retirement System from using ESG to make its investment decisions. CPAC believes that the government shouldn’t invest the money of retirees on the basis of decisions impacted by ESG scores and supported this bill. The Senate passed the bill on April 13, 2023 by a vote of 38-9 and the bill later became law.
