Forcing Taxpayers to Fund Psilocybin Research

Vote Description

This bill establishes the therapeutic psilocybin research fund, the likes of which will provide financial assistance to institutions studying ways that psilocybin may be used to improve one’s mental health. CPAC believes that taxpayers should not be forced to pay the
R&D costs of hallucinogenic treatments and opposed this bill. The House passed
this bill on March 8, 2024 by a vote of 93-5 and the bill later became law.
