This bill recognizes that parents have the right to direct the moral upbringing and education of their children. It also recognizes that parents have the right to object to any educational materials that they find inappropriate for school learning. The Senate passed this bill on March 28, 2023 by a vote of 23-17 but the bill was vetoed by Governor Kelly.
