Cracking Down on DEI at Kansas’ Universities

Vote Description
This bill prohibits public institutions of higher education from deploying DEI tactics in their hiring or promotion decisions. CPAC opposes DEI and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on April 5, 2024 by a vote of 28-11 and the bill later became law without the governor’s signature. This bill represents the first of three attempts to pass tax cuts for Kansas’ citizens, each of which were struck down by Governor Kelly. The later two bills were HB 2036 and SB 37.
