This bill bans the use of DeepSeek and other AI platforms controlled by countries of concern on state devices and networks and prohibits use of genetic sequencers and related software produced by foreign adversaries. It aims to keep sensitive state data out of Beijing’s and other adversaries’ hands. CPAC supports robust cybersecurity and technological independence from foreign adversaries and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on 2025-03-20 by a vote of 37-3. The bill later became law.
