This bill creates a dynamic cap on the maximum number of weeks for which one may receive unemployment benefits that fluctuates based on the state’s unemployment rate. CPAC supports efforts to ensure that the unemployment insurance system remains a temporary bridge between jobs and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on May 10, 2023 by a vote of 66-37 but the bill stalled in the Senate.
