This bill states that teachers and other employees in public schools may not use pronouns to refer to students that differ from those associated with their biological sex unless a parent provides written permission for them to do so. CPAC supports parental rights in education and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on June 5, 2023 by a vote of 31-8 but Governor Edwards vetoed this bill.
