HB 425
Provisions concerning coerced abortion
2025 - Louisiana Senate
Vote Description

This bill concerns coerced abortion and the reporting requirements associated with that particular crime. It entails the broadening of coercion as it relates to abortion, meaning even if an abortion as not occurred but a woman was pressured to do so, the individual may be held liable. CPAC believes that abortion is always a human tragedy, supports efforts to restrict its practice and supported this bill. The senate passed the bill on June 8, 2025 by a vote of 30-7, and it later became law.
