This roll call vote attempts to override a veto that the Governor made of a $35,000,000 appropriation to childcare centers. This appropriation would dole out grants to early education providers and increase the reimbursement rate for certain subsidized childcare centers. CPAC believes that the government should refrain from further involving itself in early childcare initiatives and supported the Governor’s veto. The House overrode the Governor’s line-item veto of these funds on September 27, 2023 by a vote of 155-1.
