RC 56
Funneling Even More Money into the State’s Welfare System.
2023 - Massachusetts House of Representatives
Vote Description

This roll call vote attempts to override a veto that the Governor made of a $7,675,000 appropriation to community action agencies. These funds would be used to stabilize the financial situation of low-income residents and provide them with economic opportunities. The Massachusetts Association for Community Action would help administer these funds, an organization dedicated to the advancement of “economic, social, and racial justice.” CPAC opposes the Left’s vision of social “justice,” opposes the provision of funds to organizations that promote major Leftist causes, and supported the Governor’s veto. The House overrode the Governor’s veto on September 27, 2023 by a vote of 129-25.
