This bill makes large changes to Massachusetts’ gun laws. For example, it prohibits most individuals from carrying firearms into polling places, colleges, and various government buildings. The bill also requires that each gun made or sold within Massachusetts be etched with a serial number. CPAC supports the founders’ belief in the Second Amendment and opposed HB 4139. The House passed HB 4139 on October 18, 2023 by a vote of 120-38.
