HB 454
Giving Licenses to Illegal Immigrants.
2023 - Maryland House of Representatives
Vote Description

This bill prohibits health occupation boards from asking people if they are lawfully in the United States as a condition of receiving a license. Instead, it gives such people the option to provide their Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, the likes of which may be issued to a person regardless of their immigration status. This means that illegal immigrants may now submit themselves for licensure before health occupation boards. CPAC opposes measures that encourage illegal immigration and opposed this bill. The House passed the bill on March 16, 2023 by a vote of 106-32 and the bill later became law.
